My method is theatre discipline applied to a camera: score the role beat by beat, then allow the body to do things the mind has not approved. Tony Manero came out of Chile under dictatorship, so I built him from silence and appetite rather than explanation. I founded Teatro La Memoria to keep that history on stage, and I still teach.
