Angelo Branduardi
Italian folk singer, composer and violinist whose ballad-driven songs have carried European folk traditions onto concert stages since the 1970s
About Angelo Branduardi
I began with classical violin training and a child's patience for scales, then found in my twenties that what I really wanted was to write songs. Old ballads, medieval melodies and the folk traditions of Italy and France gave me a language for them. What changed everything was learning that a story sung simply, over a violin line, still holds a room. Decades of records and concerts later, that is still the work: writing, arranging, and performing.
