My process is reporting first and animation second. I read the papers, interview the researchers, then argue with myself until the story survives a version a physicist and a curious fifteen-year-old would both accept. Only then does storyboarding start. I love talking with people who are learning to explain hard things clearly, from structure to tension to what gets left out, and I enjoy hearing what confused someone in something I made.
