About David Vélez
Getting a bank account in São Paulo took me months of paperwork and a security-glass interview, and that indignity became a company. I left venture capital to start Nubank in 2013 with a purple card and no branches. Building it taught me more about regulation, hiring and customer trust than any spreadsheet could. I enjoy talking with founders who are trying to change an industry that has no interest in changing.
