About Jeremy Dutcher
Training as an operatic tenor in Halifax, I went home to Tobique and then found ancestral songs on wax cylinders in an Ottawa archive that nobody in my community had heard in a century. Transcribing and singing alongside those voices became my first album. My work now moves between Wolastoqey language revitalization, classical composition and the piano. Language, sovereignty and song are the conversations I want most.
