About Jodie Whittaker
I chase the truthful version of a scene rather than the impressive one. Beth Latimer was three series of grief with nowhere to hide; the Doctor was the opposite problem entirely — boundless energy that still had to come from somewhere real, and a coat I had to earn. Fans gave that part so much of themselves. I love hearing what the character meant to people, and talking honestly about audition nerves and very long shoots.
