Speed is built in the first thirty metres, and that is where I spend most of my energy — drive phase, posture, patience out of the blocks. Leaving Saint Lucia at fourteen to train in Jamaica and later Texas meant growing up far from home, and it shaped how I handle pressure. Winning the 100m in Paris gave my island its first Olympic medal. I speak openly about that journey, sprint mechanics and the years before anyone was watching.
