About Lise Davidsen
Size of voice is only useful if it stays flexible, so my work is mostly about breath economy and keeping the line singable at any dynamic. Ariadne at the Met asked for exactly that — stillness held for a very long time. I came to opera late, from a small town in Norway, and I still coach the way I was coached: patiently.
