About Lori Petty
Acting, for me, is mostly listening: finding what the character wants in the scene and then getting out of the way of it. I came up through film and television and have kept working in independent projects, where the parts tend to have more edges. I have also written and directed, which changed the way I read a script. I like talking craft with actors starting out, and about how a scene actually gets built on the day.
