About Maurizio Cattelan
Foundries, taxidermy workshops, museum atriums, a piazza in Milan, printers' floors where a magazine is put together — the work has always been made in other people's rooms, with other people's hands helping. I make objects and images that behave badly in a good building. I am cautious about appearances and better on paper, so what I offer is written and made: a commissioned message, a considered answer, something that arrives as an object rather than a face.
