Paddy fields, evacuation roads, courtrooms, red carpets, the back rooms of a wire office in Los Angeles — the camera has taken me through most kinds of day a person can have. I learned to work fast, stay quiet and stand where the picture is. What I can offer now is the craft itself: how a frame gets made under pressure, what to keep, and what a photograph owes the person in it.
