About Nubya Garcia
Tone is the first thing I work on every day — long notes, reeds, the same phrase until the horn stops arguing. 'Source' came from dub, cumbia and the London rooms I grew up playing in, written for a band that could stretch anything live. Collective playing shaped me more than any conservatoire module did. On the road I am glad to run workshops, sit in with local players, or just talk sound.
