About Patrick Kielty
Stand-up built the way I work: write more than you need, then throw most of it away when the room tells you what it wants. Hosting the Late Late means steering a live audience, a serious interview and a comedy opening inside the same hour, and the trick is knowing which one the moment calls for. I came up in Northern Ireland doing comedy in complicated rooms, which is decent training for anything.
