About Rachel Morrison
I light for emotion before I light for beauty. On 'Mudbound' that meant available light, real interiors, and trusting faces to hold the frame without help; directing 'The Fire Inside' taught me how much of the job is protecting an actor's confidence between takes. I'm happy to look at reels, talk through lens choices, or walk you honestly through how a department head builds a look on very little money.
