About Tom Savini
I sculpt, mould and paint effects that have to survive a take, because there is no second chance once the blood is flowing and the camera rolls. Most of the job is problem-solving: what the shot needs, what an actor can stand to wear for twelve hours, what will actually read on film. I came up through stunts and acting too, so I think about effects from inside the scene. Happy to talk process, materials and rigging.
