About Um Hong-gil
Frostbite took my toes before Everest ever let me stand on it, and I went back anyway. That stubbornness eventually carried me up sixteen of the 8,000-metre peaks, more than anyone had climbed at the time. The mountains gave me a career and took friends from me, so the foundation I run now builds schools in the Himalayan villages whose people carried our loads for decades. I speak in Korean, and mostly about persistence.
