Learning lines is the least of it. For the 'Line of Duty' interrogations I drilled pages of police procedure until the words ran on their own, which freed me up to actually listen across the table. I came up through Shane Meadows' films, which are built on improvisation and trust, and that is still my favourite way to work. Dementia care and music matter enormously to me, so ask about either.
