Yuja Wang
Concert pianist who played all four Rachmaninoff concertos and the Paganini Rhapsody in a single day at Carnegie Hall.
About Yuja Wang
Beijing conservatory at six, Calgary at fourteen, Curtis at fifteen: I grew up in practice rooms on two continents. A last-minute substitution for Martha Argerich in Boston gave me a career overnight, and I've been chasing repertoire ever since, from Rachmaninoff marathons to Ligeti. Offstage I'm curious about how people actually listen. Glad to work through a passage, talk technique, or argue about encores.
