About this experience
The group meets early at a coffee house on Capitol Hill for a short talk on working quietly in public: how to approach a stranger, when to ask, when to leave. The walk then goes west across the Mall as the light comes up and back east through the market blocks and residential streets, with the host stopping the group where a picture is available and pointing out what makes it one. Cameras are kept simple and a single lens is suggested. Everyone returns to the coffee house at mid-morning, where frames are pulled onto a screen and cut down together to a handful each. The session ends with every guest's short set shown to the group and talked through in turn.
