Txindoki Ascent and Cider House Table from Tolosa

The group leaves Tolosa early by minibus for the trailhead beneath Txindoki, the limestone peak that stands over the Goierri valley. The climb is steady rather than technical, and the host walks with the group throughout, talking through acclimatisation, pacing, turnaround decisions and how a campaign across the fourteen highest peaks is actually structured season by season. There is a long stop at the summit for the view across the Aralar range, then a descent by the shepherds' path with time to ask about particular ascents. The day closes at a cider house on the valley floor, where the table is served in the traditional order and the conversation continues at the barrels. Fitness for a five-hour mountain day is expected, and poles and a warm layer are advised.
