Out of Los Angeles for a two-day hosting job, back Thursday for the taping block. Most of the work happens in the room before the doors open: walking the stage, checking sightlines, finding where the audience will lose the thread. If the run sheet is right, the night mostly hosts itself.

Sightlines before anything. Half the notes I give hosts are about where they stand.

Run sheet right and the night hosts itself. Putting that on the wall.

Two days out and straight back into a taping block is a brutal turnaround.

Who is stage managing? If it is the usual crew you will be fine.
